St Faith's Church, Hitchin: The Long Walk

The day began with excitement as we gathered in St Marks car park for transport to St Albans, a big thank you to all who volunteered to drive!

We enjoyed beautiful weather for the 17 miles and the historic buildings we called in at to find refreshments certainly lived up to our expectations!

What a welcome sight at the Cross Keys, Kimpton (about half way through the walk): Tea spread out for the hot and dusty walkers! A huge thank you to Brenda, Rob, Joy and Shirley.

Night prayers at Minsden Chapel proved to be one of the highlights of the walk for the youth group and the last part of the walk in Hitchin in the dark, everyone seemed to pick up speed as we neared the Three Moorhens!

Of course we were able to walk in comfort knowing we had a support car - thank you Gordon, who was at certain points on the route with water and oranges!!

A huge success and we will definately be repeating this next year so look out for the dates to put into your diaries!
