| St Faith's Trip to Swanage |
St Faith’s Weekend in Swanage.
On Saturday 5th April, forty seven people from St Faith’s boarded a coach bound for a weekend away in beautiful Swanage. First stop was Fleet Services on the M3 where everybody enjoyed an early lunch prior to arrival at the Swanage Youth Hostel.A swift allocation of rooms and off to the beach for a game of cricket. Fours and sixes flowed, as the ball went into the sea with great regularity.
Back to the Hostel where the evening meal was prepared, everyone sharing in the various tasks. After the washing up was completed we all enjoyed an evening stroll along the promenade. Thence to bed where many of the children indulged in midnight feasts.
An excellent Sunday breakfast was prepared by the Hostel staff, after which we walked to the H M Coastguard Station. Charmaine arranged for all the children to be given a conducted tour and to see the station’s highly sophisticated equipment in use.
Back to the Promenade for a most enjoyable fish and chip lunch prior to re-joining our coach for the trip home.
Sincere thanks to those who managed and led the weekend. Thanks also to local Rotarians for their support and everybody who contributed to making the weekend so enjoyable for all who participated.
