St Faith's looked absolutely amazing for our 'Wild West' Fair which was held on Saturday 14th November 2009. As promised, the church was transformed into another Tombstone or Dodge City.
The backdrop along the wall certainly set the scene,
helped by painted cardboard signs, cactii and wagon wheels. The
brilliant range of stalls were manned by an assortment of cowboys,
cowgirls, outlaws, pioneers and the odd (!) Native American. Many of
the stalls had a 'Wild West' theme, with people trying their hand on
the "Ten Green Bottles" Tombola or "Pin the tail on the Mule", playing
"Buckaroo" and "Find the Gold Bullion".
All of this would not have been possible without a great
deal of hard work, not just on the day. Thank you to everybody who
contributed and worked so hard in any way.
The atmosphere at the fair was fantastic, despite the
awful weather. Many of our visitors commented on the success of our
theme and the visual impact as they came in. We shared St. Faith's
friendship and fellowship with our local community, and all ages played
their part. We do hope you had a rootin' tootin' time!
