The Mother's Union is an organisation of over 3.6 million women and men living in 78 counties who believe in the importance of families. As well as encouraging and supporting families and marriage, members work to reach out as God's family to those who are isolated, in trouble, or in need of help. Through fellowship, programmes, policy and prayer, members around the world change lives.

Our meetings are on the 1st Tuesday of the months at St Faith's Church, starting with a service at 7.30pm, followed by a meeting from 8pm to 10pm.

We have a yearly programme, which includes speakers on a variety of subjects (some related to the Mother's Union) and informal member's meetings.

We have a link with a branch of the Mother's Union in St John's the Evangelist, Coffs Harbour, Australia.

As a branch, we organise for the senior citizens of our Parish an annual service followed by tea and entertainment.

With Hitchin Deanery, we supply cakes for the Letchworth Hospice. We make-up toilet bags for adults and Cheer-up–Bags for children, which go to local hospitals to give to patients.

We raise funds to support St Albans Diocese Mothers’ Union projects and worldwide campaigns. We have a branch Christmas dinner, which raises money for our Mother's Union charities. We support ”Make a Mothers’ Day", which aims to make a difference to the lives of mothers around the world.

As our original Mothers Union banner was worn out and damaged, it was decided to commission a replacement.  This was made possible by the generosity of one of our long serving members. It is particularly pleasing to have our new banner this year as we celebrate our 50 year anniversary.  The banner was blessed by the vicar of St Faiths, Charmaine Sabey-Corkindale, at the Mothering Sunday Service on 22 March 2009.
